The early reviews are coming in on the 2013 Alpina B7, and they are decidedly heavy, fast, and lumbering-ly impressed.
The Alpina B7 is not solely a BMW production. It is a joint Alpina, BMW production. Alpina and BMW have been tight for years due to the former’s work with the latter in the motorsports arena. The car itself is being compared to a secret agent’s vehicle since it is so balls-breaking heavy and powerful, able to plow through Alpine roads and urban environments with equal aplomb.
The Alpina B7’s 4.4-liter V-8’s 540 horsepowers gets the 5,000 pound full-size luxury sports sedan up to a gum-receding 194 miles per hour. However, at that speed, who needs gums anyhow?
The main (only?) drawback to the car is its $127,600 sticker price, which puts it in the league of the Maserati Quattroporte. However, BMW is a world-renown brand for a reason, and this writer believes that there will be plenty of BMW lovers who will be happy to pay such a price to get the best that the brand has got to offer.
Wow, an article finished without a single mention of fuel efficiency. That feels good.
